Lib Dem Gatherings
Whether over a drink or simply meeting up for a walk and talk, reach out to find out more about our events in Dover District and how you can get involved. Local politics needs you now more than ever.
We have often met at the Royal Hotel in Deal but are always open to meeting new faces in new places if you might not be able to meet us here.
Keep an eye here for announcements of our next get togethers or reach out if you'd like a chat before hand. If you are interested in meeting some new people who really care about our community and want to make things happen, we'd love to meet you too!
DOVER & DEAL LIB DEM COFFEE MORNINGS
We hold monthly coffee meetings for local members. With delicious cakes and biscuits to discuss life, politics, the universe and everything in between, we hope to see you at the next one!

Lib Dem Autumn Conference, 2026
Our chair, along with other members of the Dover and Deal Liberal Democrat’s, attended the recent conference in Brighton.
Here are John’s initial takeaways:
“The overall tone of the event was robust and forward looking.
On security, the pro Ukraine/anti-Russian stance was strong, as well as support for the Palestinian people.
A much stronger pro Europe position was taken, with closer ties and progress towards rejoining the main institutions much more promoted than before.
On the home front, support for the Triple Lock on pensions and the raising of the minimum threshold for income tax eligibility.
This matches Reform’s promise, but without the cruel welfare cuts.”
John will be providing a more in depth review in due course and how it might affect our communities.
