Dover, and its fortress, stand not only as the gateway to England but as a beacon of home for the thousands of us lucky enough to call this corner of England ours. Ours to cherish, ours to guard, ours to share with the world.

Despite having the largest castle in England, Dover's rich history is tied to the sea and the world beyond as much as it is holding fast behind stone walls or in chalk dug-outs and tunnels. Dovorians, in turn, are a mix of steadfast defenders, people who value home and family above all else, and those who yearn for what the horizon might bring. Yet, despite the bountiful history we have and the opportunity in terms of travel and trade, we have been left behind for many years by successive governments, national and local. For too long Dover has been seen as nothing more than an inconvenient satellite to the port. It is time for more of us to stand together behind a party that will champion the success of Dover for its own sake.
